Indian Quilling Challenge: Inspiration from DT Gayatri

Hello folks

This is Gayatri from Kraqui - kraft and quilling. Here is my inspiration for the IQCG challenge: Anything goes with geometrical shapes.

Ths stud base is a tight coiled circle, the main part a fusion of 6 triangles to obtain a hexagon and the dangler is a square. The spaces have been filled with beehive and marquise.

Happy Quilling !

Flip card

Few people had asked me about the flip card I made for my son. I searched the web where I had come across a tutorial for this card but couldn't trace it. So here I am giving the picture of the dimension. Please try it before actually making the card. I tried with the dimension mentioned in the picture but it came out smaller than what I wanted. I adjusted the dimensions and tried it out on magazine sheets before I did the card.

Hope this helps you.

Poster made with quilling, punchcraft, painting......

'Create Change'.

Just like a caterpillar, which is unnoticeable, changes to a beautiful captivating Butterfly, we too can create a change that is beautiful and nature friendly..
The life cycle of the butterfly is painted. I have pasted the caterpillar, pupa and the butterfly separately to give a 3D effect. The title also depicts change that is colorful and beautiful. The word 'create' is in black and even the letter 'a' is quilled in black. The word 'change' is made colorful and 'a' also filled with colorful quilling to show change can be bright and exciting..

Hope you enjoyed my work. Thank you for visiting....

A special birthday card

I have been lagging behind in my blogs. It is just because I have been busy making cards and jewellery..

Manu, an employee of NTPC, is an all rounder. Be it music, sports, or photography, he would be there with full enthusiasm. He met with a serious accident two years back. It was a great shock to all of us and it was as if gloom had descended over our township. It's the prayers of all the residents and God's blessing, that has brought him back amongst us. The other day he rendered a song, playing the keyboard, all in sync. It brought tears to my eyes and suddenly felt that I should make a special card for his b'day on Marc 30th.

Here is what I came up with and gifted him.

Holi

Holi, a festival of colors is celebrated in most parts of India, in the month of March. It marks the onset of spring, and also signifies the victory of Good over Evil. I think all the festivals signify that. May be, it is to remind us that, always goodness and truth, triumphs over evil.

My friends suggested me to do something in quilling to represent this festival and gave the idea of earrings. I never thought about it before and what a wonderful idea from my friends. I immediately set to work and I had just two days to prepare. I could only do two earrings set. Here is what Holi is to me..... a riot of colors and happiness.

Thank you dears for putting the challenge before me and coaxing me to do this.

More earrings.

As I had mentioned before, encouragement from my friends has driven me to try more earrings.
And I pretty much feel that I came up with better models. :)

I was searching the net for some patterns for earrings when I came across this dress, which inspired me try a geometrical design.
